Shandonbank Cottage is a listed building dating from about 1840 which has
recently been completely renovated. A new extension has been built providing
the kitchen, dining area and utility room. New hardwood floors (American
red oak) have been fitted throughout except for the bathroom, which has
been tiled, and the utility room.
The sitting room, main bedroom, dining area and kitchen all face the sea. The other two bedrooms overlook the garden. There is a towered summerhouse in the garden wall (which is also the sea wall).

The kitchen has a built-in stove with a gas hob and double electric ovens,
a fridge/freezer, a microwave oven and a dishwasher. The utility room has
a washing machine, tumble drier, sink and broom cupboard. The boiler for
the full central heating and hot water is also in the utility room. Heat,
light, power and Fibre Broadband are included in the rental fee.
The main bedroom has a double bed, the second two singles and the smallest has two bunk beds, the upper, three feet wide, and the lower with a back that makes a settee. This back folds down to give a wider bed. There is a separate shower in the bathroom. The sitting room has Freeview TV, a DVD player and a video recorder. There are three steps in the hallway leading into the dining area. We are sorry that we cannot accept pets and we operate a strict no smoking policy.

The cottage shares a secluded site of about half an acre with Inverallt.
Parking is provided. The main road (A814) runs behind the property. There
is a half-hourly bus service to Helensburgh, which connects with the trains
to Glasgow (which are also half hourly). In the opposite direction, the
bus serves Garelochhead and Coulport. The service is less frequent in the
evenings and on Sundays.
Helensburgh is just over four miles away and offers two supermarkets and many small shops, restaurants and take-aways. Rhu is about two miles away where there is a post office as well as a couple of hotels offering meal service.
